It’s so interesting to watch a baby’s personality develop from a newborn sleeping-eating blob to a big girl who reacts and interacts just like you and me. Already I can tell she is extremely stubborn (hmmm… where do you think she gets that from?), but also quite laid-back (thankyouverymuch), very independent and determined, and has a really good sense of humor. She is actually hilarious. She thinks putting her spoon in my mouth at mealtimes is so funny. Daddy’s beard is funny. Daddy in general is funny. Doggy is funny. Being upside down is funny. Pretty much everything is funny.
She claps all the time now. This morning at church, she clapped whenever Father would come out with the censer. She applauds the choir quite often too. I think she is figuring out how to wave. She puts her arm out there and wiggles her fingers a bit and looks at them. She also puts her thumb and first two fingers together like she’s going to cross herself, hehe.
A few nights ago I was reading her a book and Steve came in and she said “Dada,” which was totally a coincidence, but a pretty cool taste of what it will be like when she can call us Mama and Dada on purpose.
She cruises and climbs all day long… along the coffee table then to the couch and back to the coffee table. She loves to pull everything off the coffee table over and over again. Her record so far for letting go and remaining standing is probably 30 seconds or so. Although, the other night, she was playing with Steve’s work badge which is connect to his belt by a retractable string. She was holding onto just that while standing up for a few minutes. Pretty cool.
Well if you haven’t heard, we are gearing up for another move in a few weeks. The second move this year. I thought moving while pregnant was rough. At least once we get to the new place, Anna will have tons of cardboard and paper to keep her very occupied for a while. Keep us in your prayers!!
