Rain-Check
We were supposed to start Anna’s swim lessons this morning with some of her baby friends, but we got a call just as we were about to leave that today’s class was canceled. Apparently the water temperature was only 82 and they like it to be 86 for the little ones. So, we get a refund for one class, but now she’ll only have 5 weeks of lessons. Bummer.
It’s just as well though. She and I have been sick all week and her nose would have likely been running into the pool. Awesome. I bet the other parents would have loved that.
I did learn a valuable lesson from all this though. Swimmy diapers don’t work very well when not in water. I checked the package and it didn’t actually say that anywhere, but it must be true. She’s worn them before, but I’ve always changed her as soon as we were done swimming. But this morning our lesson was supposed to be at 8 am, so as soon as she woke up I put her in the swim diaper and not wanting to waste a perfectly expensive new diaper, I left it on through her morning nap since she never went in the pool. Poor girl soaked through her clothes and her sheets. Lesson learned. She will no longer nap in a swim diaper.
