Summer is finally happening here in the mountains… just in time for the rainy season to start. We’ve been out and about trying to take advantage of it while it lasts. We went for a long hike yesterday - I just posted some photos from the top of the mountain. And today, Anna had her first full afternoon away from Mommy. She stayed at Miss Diana’s house so Mommy and Auntie Marie could go out for a bit without having to find a spot to nurse every two hours. She did great and greeted me with a wonderful smile when I came back. Marie tried very hard to get me to not talk about Anna and wonder how she was doing.

The good thing about being out and about is that Anna has reverted to just getting up once a night since she’s tired out. (A few nights ago it was three times, ugh! I blame those stubborn teeth which have been on the verge of breaking through for waaaay too long now.) Of course, now that I’ve said that she will be up twice tonight.

Anna has been eating more and more real food lately. She loves sweet potatoes (with or without chicken mixed in), but does not like green beans or apples so much. She attempts to feed herself cheerios. They usually don’t quite make it into her mouth; although several times she’s picked one up with just her thumb and forefinger and gotten it in there. Most of the time, I end up feeding them to her and shielding them from Guinness. It’s funny to watch her gum them, she definitely knows what to do but I think a few teeth would help.

She’s slowly starting to crawl a bit. She can move forward and backward and totally around in a circle, but she doesn’t quite have that full-on crawl going on yet. Which is just fine by me…
