Sorry for the lack of posts lately – Anna was sick all last week, and of course she passed it onto me this week. If this is how she felt, no wonder she was so fussy all week (although I think I might be whinier than she was. But in my defense, it’s no fair being sick and still having to take care of someone else.) I’m just glad she didn’t pass along the eye goop too. Ugh. I fully expect Daddy to get this next week. It’s only fair.

Let’s see… in the what new can Anna do department: she can scoot across the room on her back, which is pretty entertaining. She tried bananas the other day, and although she liked the taste, most of them still ended up on the bib. She still doesn’t quite get the eating from a spoon concept and is hanging onto the tongue-pushing reflex. We’ll keep practicing every few days though; I’m sure she’ll get the hang of it one of these days.

We picked up an exersaucer for her last weekend mainly because I can’t put her down safely and walk away anymore. She ends up across the room. So I needed something to contain her and entertain her at the same time or else those dishes would just not get done. She loves it! She thinks it’s way cool that she can stand up all by herself and spin around. And no matter where she looks, there are cool toys to jam in her mouth. See the spaces album for photos.

My mom is coming into town next week, so I’m sure we’ll have lots of outings to talk about. Let’s just hope this weather goes back to normal in time; it’s been like March around here lately. (Although it’s been kind of nice that I’ve been sick and not felt like I’m missing anything by not being outside.) Anna turns 6 months while my mom is here… how is it possible that a half a year has flown by already? Insert wistful comment here about the time going too fast and not enjoying each moment with Anna more… and about her blowing by milestones when it feels like she was just born… blah, blah, blah. Steve should be happy I didn’t dwell on this and turn it into a “depressing” post. Okay, nap-time is quickly slipping through my fingers, so I need to go get some things done. I guess I’m feeling a bit better today since I’m not napping during her nap!
